For March 7th, 2017, Nigel Williams-Goss of the Gonzaga University men’s varsity basketball team, takes home the Table Talk daily honors. Williams-Goss, a junior transfer, dominated on both ends of the court during the Zags 74-56 win over St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference Tournament Championship game. His stat line, albeit, was impressive (22 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals on 6/11 shooting while going 10/10 from the line), but this daily award is more a cumulative recognition of the job that Williams-Goss has done revamping the Gonzaga basketball program. The Zags are currently ranked 4th in the nation, and boast a 32-1 record (17-1 in conference play), as they bear down on the NCAA tournament which rapidly approaches. Williams-Goss, a junior somehow improved upon a superb set of back-to-back seasons with the University of Washington Huskies his freshman and sophomore seasons before transferring to Gonzaga. He is the starting point guard, the captain of the ship, for a Zags team that will be a tough out, come March Madness. How far will the Zags go? I say as far as Williams-Goss is willing to take them. #TableTalkGo #PerformanceoftheDay
