Performance of the Day: Shabazz Napier

For April 10th, 2017, Shabazz Napier takes home the performance of the day for his career high 32-point performance while leading the Portland Trail Blazers to a 99-98 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. In the effort, Napier also added 6 rebounds and 5 assists. For Napier, the former #10 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the game last night was a testament to what he is capable of, something he showcased while leading the UConn Huskies to a national championship his senior year (he also won a national championship at UCONN as a freshman). Noah Vonleh, who scored the game winning basket in the win over the Spurs, said that “UCONN Shabazz was ready to go [last night]”. The league knows what Napier is capable of, and he showcased that with a confident and poised performance against the perennial power San Antonio Spurs.
