Performance of the Day: Desmond Bane

For March 9th, 2017, Desmond Bane of the Texas Christian University men’s varsity basketball team collects the Table Talk daily honor. Bane, a freshman on the team, calmly knocked down 3 free throws with 2.5 seconds remaining, to lift TCU to an 85-82 win over the #1 team in the country, Kansas, in the Big 12 Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.

Bane, who doesn’t even start for the Horned Frogs, came off the bench in a must-win game and dropped 16 points, while adding 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Bane’s heroics occurred when the game was in its most pivotal of moments. Tied at 82 with seconds left, Bane squared up for a corner three-point-shot, and was fouled in the act of shooting. Actually, Svi Mykhailiuk of Kansas landed on top of Bane, and that was enough to earn Bane a trip to the free throw line for three tries. He made all three. #TableTalkGo #PerformanceoftheDay
